Although the European Tour takes place primarily in the old world, some tournaments are held outside of it. The Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour, that is primarily played in the United States, is the most prestige men’s tour in the whole world of golf. Its European counterpart, the PGA European Tour, plays the role of a smaller part of the American tour.

Team Championships!

The most popular men’s team competition is the Ryder Cup, organized by the PGA Europe and the PGA. It originally plotted the best American players against their own British counterparts, First held in 1927. It is held every two years, between the United States and Europe. France will be hosting this year.

The Solheim Cup is the most popular women’s team event, first held in 1990. Since 1994, the President’s Cup has plotted the best American golfers against the rest of the world.
